Now, I promise you, what I am about to tell you did
NOT happen to me. But, let's just say... you know, for
story line's sake, that it might have happened to me... it would definitely
not be something that I find joy in today.
Once upon a time, there was a very hard working girl who just wanted to please God while she was waiting for her dream come true baby to arrive in her arms. She went to work every day and came back home every night. She played with her puppies, loved on her hard-working husband, and fellowshipped with friends on Facebook! She studied hard in graduate school so that she could learn to
comfort others the way she has been comforted by God. What a way to describe life! Pitiful, isn't it?
The problem with this girl was that she lost her mind. One day (let's just say... you know, for
story line's sake, a Friday afternoon), she was sitting at her desk, and she realized that she didn't have her cell phone case. It was very odd because she
did have her cell phone, though. Where could she have put it??? She looked in
her great big red laptop bag, her desk drawers, and under her desk. She walked the hallways and checked the bathroom, and her husband even checked the car. She called security to see if anyone had turned it in, but no such luck. Finally, she called the purchasing department to cancel the credit card she was given to use on behalf of her employer. Why you ask? Because it was
in the cell phone case. Along with her medical savings account credit card AND her debit card. Oh, my goodness! Such panic had never been seen.
With all hope having flown out the window, the girl decided to back track her steps and try just one more time to find her precious (and apparently very valuable) item. Where did she go you ask? Why, the bathroom, of course.

Now, remember, she had already checked there once. The stalls. The shelf. The floor. This time, though, she walked in and spied the garbage can.

Could she have thrown it away? So, she pushed aside one paper towel... two paper towels...

reached in... and lo, and behold, her fingers touched the item she thought she would never lay eyes (
or hands) on again! Such relief filled her heart. Why in the world would she have thrown it away? And then she remembered. Phone. Ringing. Sister calling. Pulling the phone out of the case. Throwing away paper towel, apparently
with her cell phone case. Thanks, swine flu! Last time
this girl will wash her hands. She ran down the hall and stopped the purchasing director from canceling the credit card just as his finger was about to hit
the button. Phew.
Just the thought of the landfill where the case would have made its way when the garbage was emptied on Monday morning sent shivers down her spine. And, how in the world did she know where to look for it? Well, that my friends could have only been
the whisper of the Holy Spirit. So,
if this story were true... which you know, it is
n't, this girl might just be finding joy this morning in
the protection of her amazingly big God!
...and everyone lived
happily ever after!
Living in His JOY, HOPE, and PEACE...
