"Not Me! Monday!" Returns!!!

Welcome back to "Not me" Monday... and my blog. Please remember to stop by MckMama's place to see what everyone else has not been up to this week. ;o)

I was not super excited when I saw MckMama's post on facebook with a NMM post! I did not used to love to participate in this little bit of fun, so I was not ready to hop back on the bandwagon! It is not the first thing I have posted in a long time, other than cop-out videos of our son's latest achievements. LOL! ;o)

I am not writing this in the tub as our son naps in the next room.

I am not having a really bad case of writer's block or mama brain and I do not think I have lost my bloggy touch. :-/

Our son is not 7 months old today, and I have not still neglected to write his 3-6 month update! What's up with that? He did not also begin to army crawl today!!! It is not time to BABY PROOF!!! Yikes! ;o)

Not Me, Monday! ~ A healing weekend...

Welcome to "Not Me, Monday!"
as hosted by MckMama!

This weekend was not very refreshing, even healing for me. On Friday night, we did not have a very special friend over for dinner. He did not share a lot about his life, and he did not share a whole lot of wisdom with me in a very easy - to - accept way. I do not find it easy to take advice from someone like him who has been there - done that.

Even though I will probably not (literally) share much about him personally, I might not tell you more about his words of wisdom and dinner conversation another day.

On Sunday afternoon, D.T. and I did not make a little trek across town to visit our friends who are new parents.

D.T. did not cook dinner for them at their place, making the mama's native recipe Bulgogi (yum!)...

...and I did not get my baby fix feeding this teeny-tiny little peanut! And, I do not mean really, really teeny-tiny (3 pounds, 7 ounces)!!! :o) She is not 3 weeks old in this picture, having been born one whole month early!

Living in His JOY, HOPE, and PEACE...

p.s. I do not think this is cool for my 600th post! and I am not glad to be back on the "Not Me, Monday!" kick! I have not been in a bit of a bloggy funk lately. :o)

Oh... and at lunch yesterday, I did not turn down Diet Coke while everyone else around me was drinking it! :o(

Not me! Monday!

Welcome to Not me! Monday! as hosted by MckMama!

I don't know about you, but this week, I certainly did not cave in and buy an iPhone. Nope! Not me!!! I don't give in to crazy trends like that.

Check everybody else out @ My Charming Kids!

Not Me! Monday! ~ Dizziness!

Welcome to "Not Me! Monday!"
as hosted by MckMama!

This week, no matter what you think you might have heard, I most certainly did not agree with my husband that he should buy a plane ticket for him to go to another country for the weekend! Nope! Not me! I mean, who spends that kind of money for four days?!?!? Of course, if I had done that, it would not have been because his mother was turning 80 years old and I did not think that it was very important that he be with her. I did not rationalize this purchase with the thought that we can always make more money later and that family is more important than anything else! He did not leave for Romania this past Friday, leaving me and the dogs to keep each other company. :-)

Then, my timing always being impeccable, I did not find myself getting sick this weekend with Benign Positional Vertigo, having to call the ambulance, spending Saturday AM in the ER, and then being told I can't drive until it all goes away. Nope! Not me! Of course, I do not have some great friends who are helping me out a lot until D.T. gets back tomorrow night.

It should be mentioned that I also did not learn the meaning of the word humble this weekend when I needed to be pushed on a wheelchair into the restroom in the ER because I couldn't walk without feeling like I was going to pass out.

Well, this has not been quite an exciting week for me? So, what have you not been up to this week?

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday!
as hosted by MckMama!

This has *not* been a very interesting week for me. I have *not* slept on the couch every night this week, I will *not* be separated from my husband today, on this, our 13th wedding anniversary, and I did *not* mistakenly send my husband back south last week with my daily injections in his duffel bag, and not even care that I will not have them for another week! Nope! Not me!

How about you? Has your week *not* been dull or exciting?

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to Not me! Monday!
as hosted by MckMama at
My Charming Kids!

My life is not in utter chaos right now due to a few things I cannot share. That being the case, yesterday morning, I absolutely did not walk out the door for church wearing my very nice church clothes and my very ugly, dirty house TENNIS SHOES.

What crazy things have you not done this week?

Today, I choose joy in God's providence and control over all of my chaos!

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to "Not Me! Monday!"
as hosted by MckMama at My Charming Kids!

This weekend, despite where you think you may have seen me, D.T. and I most certainly did not travel up north. Nor did we stop our trip on the first night and get a hotel room because it was raining cats and dogs so hard we couldn't even see! Then, on the way back home, I did not have to stop on the side of the road to be sick. I just don't do things like that... nor is our travel that chaotic!

Today, I choose joy in God's protection over us as we traveled and for bringing us safely home!

How about you? Fill me in on your life! What have you not been up to this week? :-)

The JOY Challenge: Day 21 and "Not Me! Monday!"...

Today, I am linking with MckMama at My Charming Kids for "Not Me! Monday!"

and Holley from in(courage) on her 40 day journey to choose joy. Won't you join us? If you would like to jump back to day 1 of my journey, click here. Or, to jump back to day 1 of her journey, click here.

Today, I am choosing joy in the beautiful view of God's creation that I have from our back patio.

Day...

or night...

I am always left thoroughly breathless by the beauty of what God has put right outside my back door.

What I don't usually expect to see and what I most certainly did NOT see this morning when I took Goldie outside was this lovely creature.

Nope! Not me! Then, I absolutely did NOT call D.T. outside to look at it. I did NOT tell him, "Hey, I've never seen a toad before. Only itty bitty little frogs. Green ones." I was NOT very excited, displaying my true lack of country skills.

So, how are you choosing joy today... and have you NOT seen anything interesting around your house?

Not Me! Monday! ~ Joy (or fairy tale?) Style!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! as hosted by MckMama

AND my Joy Challenge (Day 14!) as hosted by Holley from (in) courage.

Now, I promise you, what I am about to tell you did NOT happen to me. But, let's just say... you know, for story line's sake, that it might have happened to me... it would definitely not be something that I find joy in today.

Once upon a time, there was a very hard working girl who just wanted to please God while she was waiting for her dream come true baby to arrive in her arms. She went to work every day and came back home every night. She played with her puppies, loved on her hard-working husband, and fellowshipped with friends on Facebook! She studied hard in graduate school so that she could learn to comfort others the way she has been comforted by God. What a way to describe life! Pitiful, isn't it?

The problem with this girl was that she lost her mind. One day (let's just say... you know, for story line's sake, a Friday afternoon), she was sitting at her desk, and she realized that she didn't have her cell phone case. It was very odd because she did have her cell phone, though. Where could she have put it??? She looked in her great big red laptop bag, her desk drawers, and under her desk. She walked the hallways and checked the bathroom, and her husband even checked the car. She called security to see if anyone had turned it in, but no such luck. Finally, she called the purchasing department to cancel the credit card she was given to use on behalf of her employer. Why you ask? Because it was in the cell phone case. Along with her medical savings account credit card AND her debit card. Oh, my goodness! Such panic had never been seen.

With all hope having flown out the window, the girl decided to back track her steps and try just one more time to find her precious (and apparently very valuable) item. Where did she go you ask? Why, the bathroom, of course.

Now, remember, she had already checked there once. The stalls. The shelf. The floor. This time, though, she walked in and spied the garbage can.

Could she have thrown it away? So, she pushed aside one paper towel... two paper towels...

reached in... and lo, and behold, her fingers touched the item she thought she would never lay eyes (or hands) on again! Such relief filled her heart. Why in the world would she have thrown it away? And then she remembered. Phone. Ringing. Sister calling. Pulling the phone out of the case. Throwing away paper towel, apparently with her cell phone case. Thanks, swine flu! Last time this girl will wash her hands. She ran down the hall and stopped the purchasing director from canceling the credit card just as his finger was about to hit the button. Phew.

Just the thought of the landfill where the case would have made its way when the garbage was emptied on Monday morning sent shivers down her spine. And, how in the world did she know where to look for it? Well, that my friends could have only been the whisper of the Holy Spirit. So, if this story were true... which you know, it isn't, this girl might just be finding joy this morning in the protection of her amazingly big God!

...and everyone lived happily ever after!

Not me! Monday! ~ McDonald's...

Welcome to "Not Me! Monday!" as hosted by MckMama at My Charming Kids!

Would you believe me if I told you that I have only eaten McDonald's two times since we moved in 2003? You would? Wonderful! I'm glad you believe I am a trustworthy person!

You see, in the past, I had an addiction. I used to keep McD's in business, that's for sure, and my way of dealing with that addiction was to completely eliminate it from my life. For years, I refused to even think about it. No siree, Bob. No french fries for me. I could eat them anywhere else and be done with it, but not McD's. The fries from there held magical powers over me.

Hot. Mmmm... good.

Salty. Mmmm... good.

That being the case, there is absolutely, positively, NO way on this earth that I shared a large order of fries from there with D.T. on Saturday.

Nope. Not me. D.T. didn't eat a burger from there either. That would have been waaaaaaaaayyyyy too many fat grams.

We definitely didn't share with the dogs...

because no fries ever crossed the threshold of our house.

Hey, can we have some more?

Not Me! Monday!

Welcome to "Not Me! Monday!", as hosted by MckMama! Don't forget to stop by her place when you're done here! :-)

This week, I did not get hit in the head by my shoe that D.T. accidentally flung through the air.

We did not travel to see family this weekend or get stuck in an elevator while we were there. Fun times.

I am not in my last week of educational freedom before my next grad class starts, and my house does not look like a cyclone blew through. I guess I better get hoppin' on that before the homework settles in!

*sigh*

I am not at a loss for what else to say. So......... what have you not done this week???

Not Me! Monday!

***UPDATED***
to Minneapolis, Minnesota... I have seen you visit quite a few times, but I think you are only clicking an old link which takes you to THIS post. Click the picture of me and D.T. at the top, and you can see all the rest! :-) Oh, and welcome!!!

Welcome to "Not Me" Monday! as hosted by
MckMama at MyCharmingKids!
Don't forget to stop by her place to see what she and
everyone else have not been doing this week!

This week, no matter what you might hear, read, or think you saw, I most definitely did not put a dollar in the snack machine at work, get distracted, and push a selection for which there was nothing in that row of snacks. My goodness, that would be like throwing away $$$! Hmmmm... maybe that would qualify me to be in congress! ;-)

D.T. and I also did not placate our guilt for not having a yard for our dogs to play in by taking them to a friends house to play with their children. Our dogs did not run for 2 hours until their tongues were hanging on the ground and the pads on Goldie's paws were all scraped off. Ouch. They did not have SO much fun that we hated to leave and felt guilty once again that they can't have a yard all the time. :-( On a positive note, we were not pleasantly surprised at how well the dogs played with the kids, which did not make us more comfortable with the thought of our dogs with our future children.

So, what fun did y'all have this week?

If I were being honest...

I'd tell you that I am really struggling right now. I have so much to be thankful for, and I am. Really. I am, but I don't understand, and somehow, I just feel like crying. I would also tell you that I am struggling really hard to trust God's plan at the moment.

If I were being honest, I would tell you that D.T. and I both agree. God has said "no" to IVF. Don't understand that one either. I mean, it sounded like a perfectly good option to me.

If I were being honest, I would tell you that I just became a GREAT aunt yesterday, and that I am SO happy for our niece and her husband. Really, though, GREAT aunt? What's wrong with this picture?

If I were being honest, I would tell you that I really made a fool out of myself last night in front of these wonderful ladies who did a concert at our church...

Yep, after this little picture opp, I walked away and couldn't find the cardboard sleeve for one of the CDs I bought. So, I walked back to the table and pushed my way through, saying that I couldn't find the cardboard sleeve, only to have the middle woman say, "You mean the one you're holding under our picture?" Um. Yeah. That one. Then, I said, "Thanks. I think it's time for me to go to bed."

For real, though, how cool was THAT!!! Seriously. POINT OF GRACE!!!

Yep that's what's gone on around these here parts this week. I wonder what's happening in your life. You know, if you were being honest.
I know that if I were being honest, I'd tell you that MckMama is really struggling herself right now, and she could certainly use our prayers. So, please stop by her place and love on her family a bit.
