Monday Misse-Masche

misse-masche

God brought a verse to my attention the other day, and I don't really remember where. It stuck with me, though, and made me think a lot about the content of my blog and why I wanted to blog to in the first place. There are a lot of things that happen in life that aren't exactly fun or happy or peaceful. Plus, I am sure you would agree that they happen to all of us, and not just me. Can I get a witness??? So, one of the reasons I started this blog was to share the experiences of my life in such a way that others might be blessed or encouraged. Unfortunately, I am not so certain that I have achieved that goal. Somewhere along the way, this blog became more of a sounding board for me... in a negative way. It became a place where I could say whatever I wanted whenever I wanted regardless of how it might impact someone else. I do feel that I have a responsibility, though. A responsibility to represent my Father in the way that He deserves, not just because of what He has done for me, but because of WHO HE IS. I am not saying that I want to stop blogging or shut this whole thing down. I am just saying that I want to accept responsibility for what I put out there and to be more mindful of the things that I say. That word is something that our teacher talked about a lot the other week. Oh, and the verse?

Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk
come out of your mouths,
but only what is helpful for building others up
according to their needs,
that it may benefit those who listen.

Yesterday was a fun day for us. I would share some pictures with you, but I am waiting for a friend to send them to me. The day started off with worship at our church, and boy was it great! Especially the music. It was kind of funny, because pretty much every song that was played or sung took me right back to the time when D.T. and I used to sing in a group at our old church up north. Even on the way to church, a song came over the radio that I hadn't heard since way back when... It was all just very warm and reminiscent and um... comfortable for me. Not in a negative not-moving-forward way, but just in that peaceful this-feels-like true worship way. You know what I mean? Plus, I really miss singing. Anyway, I digress. The day continued with lunch at our friends' house and an afternoon filled with laughter and fun with their two girls. Let me tell you, it really does my heart good every time we are with them. I was certainly tired by the end of the day, but I proved to myself that I will be able to keep up when that day finally arrives for us! :-)

Oh, and another thing about church was that there was a special guest singer who stayed in town from his concert performance the night before. Do you recognize him??? You might have to think back a few years... Way cool!

There is a birth mother support group I will be attending this Thursday night. I think this might be the first time I have gone to one that I am this excited. God has just really changed my heart about this entire experience, and I can't wait to see what He is going to do! Oh, and I am making this really yummy dessert my sister found to take with me. All the adoptive moms are supposed to bring a dessert. Seriously. Does this not look really good? I am going to test it out tonight just to make sure! LOL! :-)

I know there were plenty of other things floating around my brain, but I can't quite think of them right now. I'm sure I'll be back later with more. Oh, and pictures as soon as I get them! SO cute! Y'all will want to stop back for sure!
