B.O.R.E.D.

That I am. At least for the next almost 2 hours until our plane leaves. This trip has been quite uneventful thus far. I know, I know, it hasn't even really gotten started yet, but I must say that our drive to D.C., check-in at the hotel where we are leaving our car, and then our check-in and security checks went soooo smoothly. Much more smoothly than they usually go, and I've done this um... 9 times, I think, now.

Have I ever told y'all how much I appreciate you? I really do. I feel like I've got all these friends I've never met, well, except for Sparkette, who I have met! :-) Way cool! I think more of us should meet sometime. :-) In the meantime, though, would y'all mind praying that we have a safe flight and that everything else goes as smoothly as it has so far? Thanks!

Hey, since I've done this so many times, I think that makes me qualified to give you a few travel pointers! Plus, it's my blog. ;-) So, here it is. My best tips for sanity-keeping air travel:

1. Travel light! And if you just can't leave "whatever it is" at home, check it! Don't carry it on. It is so much easier and more comfortable to not try to stuff the kitchen sink in the overhead bin of the aircraft.

2. Leave early! This may be the most important one ever. It keeps you calm, and if you do run into that really mean person at the check-in counter, you'll still have lots of time to get over it. (Disclaimer: Our check-in person was very nice and helpful. Unlike the other chick that walked up to the counter and got irritated because the check-in person who takes your bags would not actually check her in. Um, read the sign. It's self-check in until you are ready to hand them your bags. Hmph.)

3. Women - Don't forget your hair clips. It is so annoying to try to sleep on a plane with your hair all in your face. Oh, and always glasses. Never contacts. It never fails. If I wear my contacts, I will fall asleep and awake only to have to try to scrape my contacts off my eyeballs.

4. Shoes. Wear some that slip on or zip. There is nothing worse than standing at the end of the security check line trying to put your shoes back on while all the gray bins keep shooting out of the ex-ray conveyor belt and the people behind you give you looks like darts that could kill.

5. Take the day before AND the day after your trip off. It just makes life easier. Like, SERIOUSLY, wouldn't my life have been so much easier this week if I had just taken yesterday off? 'Nuff said.

Um... I think that's all I've got right now. I am sitting on the floor in front of the mobile charging station so that my laptop does not die. I think all the people walking by me are sucking the thoughts right out of my head.

Thanks for praying!

Oh man, those self check-ins are just as bad as the self check-outs at the grocery store. I think people's brains turn to mush as soon as they see those things!

Have a great time on your trip! I'll be praying for safe travels!

Oh, I am so glad I popped over here today. First, to be praying for you and your trip. How incredible to travel to Romania. Can't wait to hear all about it on your blog...since I have never been.

Second, with me flying to Chicago Wednesday and hating to fly, I am a clueless flyer. I will take all your advice to heart...it was meant for me!!!

Blessings on your travels,

Wendy
