Diet 101: Metabolism

Metabolism can be a tricky thing. It is well known that it begins to decline after the age of thirty, and can make it harder for one to lose weight. You know... this getting older stuff isn't all that much fun! :o)

I must admit that I was disappointed with the scale on Monday evening when it told me I had lost a mere 0.7 pounds. Not two pounds, like I know is steady. Not even a full one pound. I followed my diet, staying within my calories all week long. I exercised throughout the week, too, but the results did not seem to follow. I need to find whatever balance my body needs to make this happen, because it is discouraging. Exercise in the mornings isn't very easy right now, either, because of the dizziness that has returned. It is worse at night when I lay down and in the mornings when I first get up. I don't think it would be very prudent to test my luck by getting on the treadmill. Can you see it? Watch out dogs... C.C. flying across the room! Wheeeeeeeee! Lol! :o)

I saw my doctor yesterday, and he gave me a prescription as well as referred me to a physical therapy clinic in town to see if they can do any manipulations to help the dizziness by moving the crystals in my inner ear. We'll see. I'm looking forward to getting this cleared up so I can contribute more physical activity to my weight loss efforts.

Please pray for me as I see the physical therapist later today and plug away at this weight loss stuff. I would appreciate it!

Living in His JOY, HOPE, and PEACE...

I understand the metabolism thing. It gets worse over 40. Aren't you glad I told you that? :o)

With God's help, you can do it.
