Tuesday Tidbits ~ Brothers... and other random thoughts!

D.T.'s brother was finally able to get a flight out of Europe this weekend! Yay!!! We picked him up from the airport late this Saturday...

spent the night in a hotel where the two brothers talked to their mom on Skype... :0)

and then did a bit of shopping on Sunday.

This place is dangerous for me! :-)

New shoes! :-)

That evening, we went to a concert of praise at our church (totally awesome!!!),

and then finally headed home where his brother could crash! Travel tip: a sure fire way to beat jet lag is to just push through it all day and not let yourself stop until night. LOL! :-)

15 days ~ no Diet Coke! I feel really good about this. Never in my life have I gone this long. It is amazing! I have also never consumed this much water in a day. I'm still not up to par with where I should be, but I am SO much better. I am getting in 6-7 eight ounces glasses a day. When I was drinking Diet Coke, that was all I was drinking, so this is a drastic improvement for me! Never going back!!!

We picked up the dogs from the boarder last night after work, and they got to meet D.T.'s brother.

wag quite this much before! She LOVES him!

Who knew he was as much of a dog lover as we are?!?!?

I mean, he has a dog, but we didn't know he was this into them. They are totally into him, too! One...

or both of them...

...spent all evening either sitting beside him on the couch or following him around anywhere he went. I think they've found a friend for life! :0)

My weight loss efforts have been bugging me a bit lately. Not the dieting or the exercise part. Just the lack of weight loss part. I started off pretty well by losing 3.5 pounds,

but then nothing for days and days on end. Now, I've been told I am weighing myself too often, and that is probably true. I just had to keep doing it until I saw some more weight loss, and that finally happened last night! Yay! Now, I can make myself avoid the scale for a little while. What do you think? Once a week? Twice a week? More??? My total weight loss right now is 4.6 pounds,

and tomorrow will be 2 weeks since I started. I guess that's not bad. I'm just used to watching the big numbers on the Biggest Loser. I'm really enjoying a lot of the tips, tools, and new recipes I have found to help me beat this problem! I'll share some of those with you soon. :-)
