Tuesday Tidbits...

Thanks, everybody, for all your encouraging words yesterday, and for your prayers. I really believe that all those interceding on our behalf are the ones God is using to lift us up with His strength!

I learned something interesting from my dad this last weekend! Did you know that D.T.'s and my anniversary is special for *two* reasons??? It is! First, it is special because it is our anniversary! :-) Second, though, it is special because apparently, December 21st is the date every year when the days start to get longer! I LOVE it! SPRING is coming!!!

We are thinking about adding to our profile album that birth mothers view. We are going to show pictures of some of the struggles in our lives and how God has used them to teach us about having faith in Him. We figure, why make the album all pretty and perfect when life isn't that way? Why get them interested only to find out all the dirty little secrets buried in our home study? Why not just tell them in the beginning and show them how God has used it in our lives? What do you think? Good idea, or are we crazy?

Ben and Goldie were so glad to come home last night.

They couldn't really decide what to do.

Play...

or sleep.

Play...

or sleep.

Play...

AND sleep?

I think sleep won out. :-)

They were definitely tired, that's for sure!

I got on the Wii Fit last night, and it told me it had been 19 days since I was last on. Yeah, that sounds about right. I was worried that I might have gained weight. So, imagine my surprise when... I lost SIX pounds!!!!! I guess I have the dieting secret! Go away for 2 weeks. Sleep on the couch. Eat only out of necessity, never out of desire. Lose six pounds! :-)

I used to think that Christmas was my favorite holiday, but I think I have changed my mind. Maybe it is because Christmas was hard for me this year. Personally. I've just gotten tired of watching all my friends on Facebook sharing their Christmases with their beautiful children as big, happy families when we are still waiting. That probably sounds selfish, but please don't take it that way. I'm really glad for everyone else. It's just hard to have all the reminders. So, I've been thinking. Maybe New Year's will be my new favorite holiday. It's such a refreshing time of new hopes and new possibilities. Yes, New Year's. That's it! :-)

What about you?

What's your favorite holiday? Do you have any New Year's resolutions? Stay tuned... I'll share mine in the coming days. :-)

Living in His JOY, HOPE, and PEACE...

***Don't forget to pray for someone today!

First off, yes...I think adding those things to your album would be a way for birth mothers to really *see* who y'all are. Yesterday while I was praying for you, I just started thinking, "if these birth mothers would read their blog, they would see how beautiful these two people are and all of them would choose them!"...I get upset for you because I know how bad you want it and just seeing the little bit of your lives you share on here...well, it's a beautiful story God is writing...*what* is He waiting on? I know he has a plan but I have a hard time waiting *for* you.
Second, your dogs are so cute and I love your voice.
Third, good job losing 6lbs! I want a Wii Fit so bad...maybe someday. For now, it's just me trying to get out there to walk!
Fourth, my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. I love being with family. We always play games and do some kind of "I'm thankful for..." craft and I just love it(even though I'm not a huge fan of turkey). It's calm but still exciting. New Year's is a great favorite holiday to have...new beginnings, a new year...yup, pretty exciting stuff!
Welp, hope you enjoyed my book! I guess I've gone on long enough.
Blessings & Prayers.

I agree with putting it all out there and showing how God has been working in your lives. I completely agree with Jessi in that I am feeling frustrated for you. My heart breaks that the birth mothers only get a snapshot of your marriage, faith and life. I prayed for you last night and will continue to do so.

My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because there are fewer expectations associated with it. We spend time with family and that is my favorite.

LOVED the pictures of your dogs. I know they were so excited to see you both and to be back home in their own familiar surroundings.

Look at those sweet puppies! They were so excited to see you guys!

I can't agree more with adding those things to your album. It really can't hurt!

My favorite holiday is Christmas! Even though, like you, without children it makes me sad. I feel so lonely during Christmas. I don't regret my decision about kids but I sometimes wonder how different my life would have been. I think more of this around this time of the year.

Good job on losing 6 pounds! Don't you just love it when it happens and you weren't really trying!
