Not Me Monday! Fairytale style...

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. Don't forget to head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, there lived a young Queen (or at least she thought she was young) who wanted to be perfect. Unfortunately, like many of the other princesses in the land, she quickly discovered that she, in fact, was not perfect. This was evidenced by things like her two canine companions who liked to tear up the lovely toys she bought them

and by the huge, gross ball of hair her King found in the bathtub pipes while fixing the drain mechanism.

Things like unruly house pets and dirty drains certainly do not have their place in a kingdom that strives for perfection.

Of course, while perfection is a goal to be sought after, it is not easily achieved. Even on Sunday, a day that should be characterized by perfection, the king and queen mistakenly locked themselves out of the castle and had no way to get back in.

All through the week, the King and Queen struggled to eat good things and to do their daily exercises on a new contraption called the Wii. Yet, perfection escaped their grasp. They hung their heads in shame as they were told that they were "unbalanced" and much older than their true age. The King even told the Queen she looked like she had Tourette's Syndrome when she was doing the Hula Hoop. ;-)

Fortunately, the week was not all bad for the King and Queen. With practice, they became much more fit than when they started. In fact, their "Wii" ages became much younger than they even were in real life and the Queen lost nearly 4 pounds. 3.8 to be exact.

The royal couple spent a lovely evening together the night before the kingdom's annual celebration of love. The King bought the Queen flowers,

and she was careful to only eat a small portion of her meal, even though she chose a dish that was sinfully decadent, high in calories, and quite tasty. The following morning, the King was so kind to get her a Cinnamon Crunch bagel with honey walnut cream cheese from the local bagel shop and the Queen was careful to only eat half... at a time. Ahem.

The King ended the week by generously donating his time and energy to fixing the broken drain in his Queen's most coveted prayer tub closet.

After all, the Queen needs her time alone in a relaxing vessel, suitable for holding many, many gallons of steaming hot water.

Finally, the King and Queen retired to their chamber to regain their strength for another week, sure to be full of new and exciting adventures. The feisty canines settled in for a long nap...

and one and all lived happily ever after.

At least until next week.

Now, it may be said that real life sometimes resembles a fairy tale. However, if you were to say that any of these things were part of my life, I would have to say that it was most definitely... NOT me!

Living in His JOY, HOPE, and PEACE...

***Don't forget to pray for someone today!

We have locked ourselves out of our house more than I can count on one hand. Hope you were easily able to get back in. :)

I love your blog... I will have to wait for another day (not a Monday) to peruse more fully... you know, too many Not Me's to read. But I'll be back... I'm adding you to my blogroll. I have three adopted kiddos so I immediately know I'll "get" you... plus I'm praying every day for lots of people, and especially for orphans, and especially for the former orphans that live in my house! I'll be praying for you today too! :)
Highly Caffeinated Mama!
