I pulled out my old journal this morning,
and discovered that the last time I wrote in it was Saturday, May 28, 2005! 5 1/2 years!!! Wow. I guess I have replaced my private thoughts with this much more public forum. Well, today, I wrote in it, and found that it really is quite different. It is more like a written prayer to God, and I don't need to tell Him what has been happening lately or how I feel about it. He already knows. No, here, I can confess my weaknesses and claim His strength.
Do any of you journal? Not on a blog. In private. What do you like about it?

I journal a lot. You are right, it's like a personal letter to God. I write him letters all the time. I tell him how I feel and where I think I am failing and how much I need his grace. My blog is my sounding board and a place where I can dictate our entire adoption process. My journal is just for me and him.
I journal. Sometimes. But, honestly, my journal is very public -- it's on my blog. So often I hid behind masks and tried to make it look like I had everything together -- when I didn't. SO I blog.
Wonderful post -- got me thinking.
(and, yes, I have many, many journals that are years since the last entry.)
I could never really get into journaling...but blogging I love. Different strokes I guess - you are right, they are very different things!
