A day in the big city...

It's getting late, so tonight's post is going to be short and sans pictures. Don't worry, I'll post some tomorrow.

It's been an... um... interesting day. I think the most obvious thing I learned today is that I was definitely not made for big city living.

D.T. and I started the day fairly early. Well, at least early for me when I am still trying to adjust to the time change, even after 6 days! We were up by 9:30 a.m. and out the door around 11:30 a.m. The goal was to do a little shopping downtown, which we did. What I didn't expect was the older lady we encountered on the bus ride home. She was... how shall I say it?... not fully aware of things, making lots of erratic movements with her head, pulling up her skirt, and talking to herself out loud. Not a big deal, except that before she got off the bus, she um... had a very small accident in front of the exit door. Still not so bad, except that when she got off the bus, she ran across the street to a grassy area, lifted her skirt, pulled down her underclothing, and relieved herself in full view of EVERYONE! I mean, we're talking about a street in a city of 2 million people! My goodness, can I say it again? I am NOT made for big city living!

Just for the record, D.T. and I exited the back of the bus which was not the exit where the accident occurred. Can someone say watch where you step?

I'm glad to say that the rest of the day was very uneventful. I mean, what could be considered eventful after that? We spent our evening answering emails, feasting on homemade clatite (dessert crepes), showing D.T.'s mom pictures of our adoption album, videos of our dogs, and watching My Big F@t Greek Wedding together. If you have ever seen that movie, there is no better description I could give you of D.T.'s family! ROTFL!!! :-)

Well, that's it. Gotta get up early tomorrow for more shopping... someplace other than where we went today! Have a good night.

Living in His JOY, HOPE, and PEACE...

That poor lady. I am with you on not living in a big city. I don't think I could handle it.

Interesting is a good word for all that! If DT's family is like the movies, yeah, I'm sure your trip has been interesting (in a good way)! That's neat you get to experience a totally different culture like that!
