Not Me Monday!

Welcome back to "Not me! Monday", the blog carnival created by MckMama so that she and many others... like me!... can let down our guard, drop the facade, and come clean... at least once a week! Come on, join us! You know you want to...

What? Don't you know I'm perfect? What? You're not? Well... let me just tell you. This week, not matter what anyone tells you to the contrary, I most certainly did not do any of the following:

I did not take full advantage of the fact that we were taking dinner to a family from our Sunday School class and make dessert for them and us. After all, I'm on a diet, and I would never, ever cave in to the temptation of strawberry cake (from a mix) with icing and chocolate sprinkles by eating say... at least 6 pieces a lot. Nope! Not me! Not ever!

I also did not eat any of the homemade Italian bread D.T. made to go with the meal. Shaking my head in shame... but it was SO good. I'm tellin' you, y'all need to come visit and eat some of his food. Phew, that man can cook!

Yesterday, D.T. and I did not buy a dog bed at S@m's Club for our oldest dog Goldie. It was not very cheap because we fully expect her to both chew it and not actually sleep in it. We are not hoping to get them both out of our bed because it is too crowded. After all, it's only a queen sized bed! Teaching her to sleep on her own is not very challenging....

Step one: put dog bed in favorite dog chair so she will actually get on it.

Step two: at bed time, put dog bed that now has her scent on it on the floor in our bedroom.

Step three
: lovingly welcome her back in our bed 20 minutes later
and call it successful for the first night!

Step four
: try again tomorrow...

**Sigh**

Living in His JOY, HOPE, and PEACE...

***Don't forget to pray for someone today!

That's funny! The dog bed is cracking me up.

Oh I didn't make cupcakes last night and eat one with ice cream and sprinkles. I won't have another one tonight either!

Cracking up over the dog bed situation and that she ended up back in your bed.

if that doesn't work, there's always a crate! i know it sounds mean, but dogs are den animals and it makes them feel safe!
our dogs lounge in our bed till it's lites out. then they go to the crate. never a challenge to get them in. they feel right at home there. . .
oh well, it's only a suggestion. i hope you get to reclaim your bed!

Strawberry cake made from a mix is the best! I know I would have joined you in eating the rest of that cake had I have been there.
Good luck tonight with the dogs. Have you ever heard of putting something of yours in the dog bed, like a t-shirt you've worn all day? I've heard that this works for babies who have trouble sleeping in their cribs. Maybe it would work for dogs, too. :)

My cats went through many beds that they never slept in, until the baby came. Now they love their old cat beds.
